cool graffiti near the Ontario College of Art in Toronto
This gorgeous vintage (late 50's) dress by a designer by the name of "Cornelia", was on display at Divine Decadence, a high end vintage boutique in Yorkville, Toronto. I spent over an hour browsing among the museum quality vintage dresses, coats, jackets, skirts and accessories. I adore the mix of pale pink with various shades of green, and one of the most fabulous things about the dress was hidden beneath the flowered skirt...
... beautiful silky, pale green knickers, with buttoned cuffs, attached to the dress
This flowered fantasy of a hat is also by the same designer
I had never seen french macarons in these colour combinations! These ones in the cafe at the AGO were more appealing to my eye than to my stomach

My friend Heather's new kick ass Fly London boots (half price!!)
My old kick ass Swear boots, that I had packed away thinking that I was somehow "past the age" of being able to pull them off. I was wrong.
Ahhh Summer, we hardly knew ye....

So glad you are feeling better, Shelley.
ReplyDeleteI lusted after those Fly London boots myself - lucky friend!
Glad you're finally on the mend in your world. I love love love the top graffiti photo. I love this style of art so much we had our brick chimney wall inside the house painted in Graffiti/tagging style. We just drove our car around in the inner city at night looking for gang taggers and brought them home with us...just kidding!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better! The street art is so cool and dramatic and I can't believe you ever questioned wearing those damned fine boots, I love them!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is a work of art! xxx
Good enough to eat vintage!
ReplyDeleteVoiko jarrukengillä pujotella ?
I love the juxtaposition of the perfectly feminine vintage dress and hat (gorgeous!!) and the fabulous boots. I'd love to see them worn together. I also love graffiti art and this graffiti mural is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteStay on the mend!!
If anyone can pull off wearing those Swear boots, it's you! I'd love to see the whole outfit.
ReplyDeleteLove those Fly boots too. And buttony knickers!? LOVE!
Whoa, the street art in your area is way more sophisticated than in my area! I do love to watch box cars passing by as it seems to bring graffiti from all over the nation my way.
ReplyDeleteThat dress you saw in the boutique is simply beautiful. And with knickers like this--let the wind catch the skirt.
Thank you my dear for the summer day trip...and a glimpse of those' kick ass boots'.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Shelley. That dress is a masterpiece, buttoned knickers and all! Love the art, the hat and both pairs of boots. Of COURSE you can wear yours! Glad to hear you are feeling better. xxxx
ReplyDeleteYou had me at "lime green knickers"!! The frock is so utterly exquisite and demure but I'm afraid I would be seriously tempted to hitch it up on one side to show off the silk button frillies!!! Or just throw the skirt over my head and run around in circles also wearing your fecking gorge Swear boots!!! xoxoxoxoxooxo
ReplyDeleteI love the mural- and the kick ass Swear boots- glad to see you still rocking 'em!
ReplyDeleteNo one is ever ever ever too old to pull off something they love to wear. Ever. Those swearboots bring on some heavy metal expletives of praise!
ReplyDeleteLoved everything in this blog, from the Red Hat Ramblers to the macaroons to the vintage frock to the Swear boots. Great way to end the summer season!
