This coat has had many lives, and previously belonged to Melinda, of The Sentimentalist. Nothing like a bright red plaid to ward off the winter blahs.
I would have hesitated to mix patterns like this years ago out of fear that other people would think it was weird. Now, as the fabulous Helga would say, "feck it".
Plaid coat - The Sentimentalist
checked wool skirt - Mesh Consignment Boutique
Belt - Frilly Lizard
Striped tights - Winners
Pink Felt neck piece - Lady Mosquito (Toronto)
Hope you're all having a reasonable week

ReplyDeleteLove the mixed patterns - love the belt and skirt - love the gratuitous rat pic!! Sarah xxx
ReplyDeleteThat is a great coat. Warm I bet too. My daughter once had a coat like that. I asked her one day why the pockets were bulging..and she proceeded to pull out everything but the kitchen sink (wet bathing suit included)! I hope you didn't put your little friend in the pocket. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous bright and cosy coat! And underneath - phooaarr, Shelley, how svelte and amazing does your body look in that outfit! Love the pattern mixing - I do it much more than I used to as well, must be age bringing us confidence and sass! xxxx
ReplyDeleteWhoops, forget to say - keep the gratuitous rat pics coming, what a cutie! xxxx
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly perfect. Red and pattern and a rat. And let's not forget that incredible felt jewellery! Keeping warm with style - this is how it's done.
ReplyDeleteI love your dariness and perfect matching.
ReplyDeleteDid you know you have a RAT on your shoulder, is that the new black for this coming season? LOL.

I am going to start the trend of a rat being the new "it" accessory!
DeleteAww, Fred! Love your wide belt, pattern mixing, and booties! Stunning neckpiece too.

ReplyDeleteblack and white and red, priceless.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree - feck it! I think you look amazing, wonderful style... And cute rat! :)
ReplyDeletePattern mixing? I didn't notice. They all look perfect together!
ReplyDeleteLove this bit of mid week funk, you look warm and totally unique. Rats!!!!! One of my favorite performers in the whole wide world has 30 rats and her oldest just died at 6 and she is having him stuffed!
ReplyDeleteI really love that coat!! Wow! The pattern clash is great, everything looks fabulous. Checks are always cool. Squee. Love the rat photo!
ReplyDeleteYes, you ARE the mix master. Each piece magically contributes to the final artistic ensemble. Including Fred!
ReplyDeleteShelley, I love the necklace and the coat, and I just bought tits very similar to yours, which are thick and comfy in addition to being funky. I don't often pattern mix but I like the way you've done it!
ReplyDeleteI had a big laugh when I read this, I am assuming you meant "tights", not "tits", as I wouldn't describe mine as thick, comfy and funky ;)
DeleteThis is soooo amazing. Sassy lady. I love your boldness. Keep going
