Still Stylish at 60, 70, and 80?
This is a question I sometimes ask myself (yes, I admit to being shallow about things like that). Of course, a more important concern would be whether I'm still going to be alive, ambulatory, independent, healthy, etc., and I think about that too. I found a style blog listed in "Bust" magazine (one of my favourite reads--check it out at www.bust.com), and it is focussed on style amongst the "silver-haired set". If you thought that looking fabulous and stylish was reserved for the under-50, wait til you see some of the incredible outfits these men and women put together. The link is: AdvancedStyle.blogspot.com
There are even photos of one of my inspirations, Mimi Weddell, a 90 year old model, actress and style icon. A documentary was made about her, called "Hats Off", which I am still trying to acquire. She is proof that age is really a state of mind. Here's the website for the documentary: http://www.hatsoffthemovie.com

Women's Roller Derby - Who Knew?
So apparently I've been looking in the wrong places for Londoners
with great personal style. All I had to do was go to the Roller Derby!
This weekend, the Thames Fatales and the Derby Debutantes
faced off in "Rollergeddon" at the Western Fair Canada Building.
Both the participants and the fans displayed some cool style, including
this guy--and you thought no one waxed their moustache anymore!
These fabulous dreads and the stunning sleeve were at the True Love
Tattoo shop (located at 227 Wharncliffe Rd. S) table

University of Western Ontario
I hesitated over whether this young woman's outfit was blog-worthy or
not, but it's been slim pickings here lately, even with the nicer weather.
I don't think people in London realize how boring they look, or maybe
they just don't care. After being surrounded by black leggings and hoodies
on campus, I was pleasantly surprised to see someone looking put together.

Apologies for no new posts last week, but have been laid low by "The Cold From
Hell" (no, not the H1N1 virus) that will not go away. I thought it was a good
time to think about what trends I actually like for this summer, and Gladiator
sandals are one that I will be embracing. Stores like Forever 21, H&M and Urban
Behaviour (where I picked up these for $30) have inexpensive versions so
you won't feel guilty when they fall apart in September. I thought that my
bunions wouldn't be as noticeable with all the straps and studs to distract the eye!
